Luton and Luton Town FC

We live in (or around) Luton. We are (or have been) regulars at The Bricklayers Arms in Hightown. Most of our reports will be from South Bedfordshire, and most of them will be at The Brickies (and the back room at that). Apologies if that gets boring: but possibly the most important pub concept is that of the local. None of the reports we’ve written up will do justice to the subject. We’re generally writing them as outsiders, and will obviously miss the nuanced subtleties that make a hostelry, we’ll probably only visit once, special to its specific clientele. We’ll always add our two penneth, and we will always miss the point. Likewise, our dozens of Brickies reports and photographs will never capture very much when taken individually… but as a whole they might just relate something of the place (even if that’s just “some of the regulars are idiots”)

Luton Town FC We go watch the Town; much of our pubbing from August to May is centred on having a few pints before the match (usually at The Black Horse) and after the match (at The Bricklayers). We used to go to the Brickies before the match too – but pub closures over the past few years means the place is heaving…
