Beer: Titanic Plum Porter 4.9%
We do that. It’s an excellent shop, but too pricey. Cheese (it transpires) is nice though… but Epoisses was significantly cheaper in Fortnum and Masons (where I also stock up on Gentlemen’s Relish).
We schlep back to the pub. It’s a great place… but a bit smelly. Outside is heaving, and too hot to boot, but there’s plenty of room inside. Titanic Plum Porter is an excellent beer– a bit heavy to be on for very long, but I manage a couple (probably three).
And now it's closed down. That must have been one of it's last days in existence.
ReplyDeleteA massive, massive shame. The perfect spot for a 'first off' and/or 'last before' our train in or out from St Pancras. The Parcel Yard in Kings Cross isn't bad. A different type of place entirely (small chain, 'station' pub and kind of bespokey location and architecture).
ReplyDeleteI think I'm ok representing the views of the rest of the team; PY's great, but we'd choose the Bree over it, every day of the week.
The people from my office used to go here several times a week. Then we moved offices. Maybe that was what tipped it...
